En 2009, la Chine a dépassé les Etats-Unis pour l'investissement dans les technologies vertes, selon le Pew Charitable Trusts. Pékin y a consacré 34,6 milliards de dollars (25,8 milliards d'euros), soit 50 % de plus qu'en 2008.
